Not Your Mama's GREEN Juice

Not Your Mama's GREEN Juice Hey There!
How was your weekend?
Ours was low-key. We were still in our jammies on Saturday at noon. The sun came out on Sunday and Sweet-Pea got to take a short walk for the first time since the surgery. Photobucket She was so happy to be out & about. Photobucket
You may have noticed that I didn't add a number of day to this post.
That's because I can't keep up with posting every, single day like I promised I would during the 40 Days of Healthy Whole Eating & Living. Would you mind if I broke the promise? ;) I should have known myself better than to promise 40 straight days of blog post.
It's all part of the journey for me. I'm slowly giving up time on the computer so that I can unclog my mind  and focus on genuine things that matter the most in my life. Posting every night is just too time consuming. I feel like my mind is always in a state of "planning what to post."
That's all on that for now.
Let's chat about this yummy juice. I'm calling it Not Your Mama's GREEN Juice because I'm certain MY MAMA would never, ever, ever make it. Would yours?
We've been juicing every morning.
There's just something so COOL and healthy about cranking up THE JUICER!
Breville Juicer Today I whipped up the best green juice yet. Seriously.
I was quite pleased with myself.
It's so much fun to try different concoctions and see how they turn out! Juicing This juice is very sweet with a twist of vanilla!
That's right!
Vanilla is the secret ingredient!
Oh! And cinnamon! Photobucket You've just got to try vanilla and cinnamon in green juice!
I know it sounds weird but really it's not.
Here's the recipe:
Makes just enough for 2~
1 lemon
1 orange
1 green apple
5-6 stalks of celery
1 cucumber
1 head of romaine lettuce
5 cups/big handfuls of baby spinach
pinch of fresh ginger
1 1/2 teaspoons powdered Stevia
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
 orange slices for garnish
crushed ice {optional} Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Add the Stevia. Photobucket Add the cinnamon. Photobucket And the vanilla. Photobucket Give it a stir and pour it up. Not Your Mama's GREEN Juice Add crushed ice and garnish with a slice of orange.
It's as easy & healthy as that!
I've got a heavenly soup to share with you this week.
Honestly the best soup I've ever made, and healthy!
And. Made with VODKA!
VODKA's healthy~right!
Here's to a week of HEALTHY-WHOLE LIVING!

  1. Hi there! So happy to hear Sweet-pea was able to go for a walk! I'm also glad that you are letting go of posting every day for 40 days! That's a lot of pressure and isn't in keeping with taking good care of yourself! Good for you!

  2. Hi there, I love juicing but generally do it more spring-autumn, which is really silly. Got to get back into it again. I always feel so much healthier when I do. I've never put sweetener in any juices I've done but will definitely give it a try, especially with the cinnamon. I am also trying to do smoothies for my hubby for breakfast. I can't wait to see what your soup recipe is.
So glad Sweet-Pea is doing better; it is hard on us when our little pups are hurting.
    Hugs, Noreen

  5. Oh, I bet that cinnamon is SO good in there! I love that! We don't have a juicer, but I may try that in a smoothie. I know it's not the same, but still healthy, right?!?

  7. This juice looks fantastic....I'm going to give it a whirl! We love hearing from you, but I think you are wise not to put pressure on yourself to blog everyday. I say kudos to you for focusing on the genuine things in life....we all need to do that more! So glad your sweetie was able to get out and take a walk this weekend...she looks SO HAPPY..and what a beautiful walk!

As Cheryl Ann said....thanks for being such a good example...and reminding us what is important to focus on! :)

  8. Hi Girlie:) I read just about everything you post !!! But I am so bad about writing and commenting back! PLEASE just post when you can- too much pressure for 40 days straight. I miss you sweet Teresa! When I read the daily dozen- Tim and I were still in our PJs in bed on Sunday at 12:30 ( We watched church online) and he laughed about how much you and I are alike:) I am so inspired by your 40 days post- I will be trying the some of the recipes. We have to catch up soon. I now have a "smart" iphone5 and now we can FaceTime:)) Give those sweet puppies a hug for me. I just know I would be great buddies with them- so so so cute!

  9. Miss Tide...thank you for all of your honest, heartwarming & inspiring posts. This Green Wonder(adore the COLOR), as well as all of your yummy/healthy recipes are great to try and so love vanilla & cinnamon :-) Thanks also for setting a very good example in not over-committing and then actually doing something about it when it happens! Keeping priorities vs goals is so important for women, don't you think? That's a rhetorical question because of course you do!! Hugs, Your Duck Buddy PW

  10. Hi Teresa! :) I make a green monster drink similar to yours! I use spinach instead of romaine. I love the idea of cinnamon and vanilla! My drink definitely needs help in the taste department! I made one for us this evening and hubby almost choked! I had added too much fresh lemon juice! And I also snuck in some sour orange juice, hehe, he didn't know!Because I was supposed to use the sour orange juice for our fish, oops. Thank you!

  11. Last month I went to my local Organic Market and they told me that this green juice was probably the best, so I bought it. I really had no idea which one to go for.
